MD Browser

MD Browser does not collect analytics, does not send your Markdown files to Shrugsoft, and does not require a Shrugsoft account. The app is designed to browse files that you choose locally on your Mac.

  • MD Browser reads files and folders you explicitly choose.
  • Document contents stay on your device and are not transmitted to Shrugsoft.
  • App preferences, recent items, and related app state are stored locally on your device.
  • If you click an external web link, it may open in your system browser and then be subject to that destination site's own privacy practices.

MD Browser is a sandboxed macOS app. File access is limited to locations you choose, and recent-file access is managed using Apple’s sandbox-safe security mechanisms.

Website Contact Form

If you use the contact form on this website, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, subject, and message, so we can respond to your inquiry.

Contact form submissions are processed by our Cloudflare-hosted form handler and delivered to us by email using Resend. We do not store contact form messages in a separate website database managed by us. The submission may also include technical details needed to operate the form, such as your IP address and the submission date.

Turnstile

Our website uses Cloudflare Turnstile to reduce spam and abusive automated submissions. Turnstile may process information such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, and interaction signals needed to determine whether a submission is likely to be human.

Other Shrugsoft Apps

Some other Shrugsoft apps may support user-authorized third-party integrations, local credential storage, or direct communication with third-party services at the user’s request. When those features exist, we aim to limit access to what is necessary for the feature and keep processing on-device whenever possible.

If a specific app uses analytics, crash reporting, ads, or a third-party integration that changes data handling in a meaningful way, we will disclose that in the app, its store listing, or an updated privacy policy.

How We Use Information

We use information submitted through the website contact form only to respond to questions, support requests, or other messages you send us.

We do not sell your information, build marketing profiles, or use website contact submissions for unrelated advertising campaigns.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We may rely on third-party services that are necessary to operate the website or respond to submissions, such as Cloudflare hosting, Turnstile verification, Resend email delivery, and related email infrastructure, but we do not share app document contents from MD Browser with Shrugsoft servers or advertising networks.

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we receive. For apps like MD Browser, the most important security boundary is your own device, because the app is designed to keep its working data local.

Your Rights

If you have sent us a website contact form submission and want us to delete the related correspondence we control, contact us and we will do our best to honor that request, subject to any legal or operational obligations.

For MD Browser, because your documents stay on your device, you remain in direct control of them.

Children's Privacy

Our apps and website are not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
